Article Evaluation Process
Submitted articles go through a three-stage process: Preliminary Review, Scientific Evaluation and Preparation for Publication. These processes are planned and implemented by the editorial board.
1. Preliminary Review Process
At this stage, the article's suitability in terms of form, language and editorial is evaluated. In terms of shape; The scope of the article, originality report, ethics committee permission, citations and compliance with the Article Template are examined. Among the studies sent to the journal, those that do not pass the initial examination are rejected. At this stage, the reasons for rejection in the first review are that the study was prepared without complying with the journal writing rules, that it fell outside the scope of journal publication, that it was not sufficient to be included in the referee evaluation process, that the originality report was over 20%, and that it had features that did not comply with the journal publication principles. Authors may re-apply for candidate articles that are not found satisfactory in the formal review, unless they are rejected due to their content.
In the language review, articles are evaluated in terms of academic writing in English and Turkish. A rejection or correction decision may be made for candidate articles that are not found satisfactory as a result of the language review.
In the editorial review, the introduction, method, findings and discussion sections of the articles are evaluated in terms of the scope and objectives of the journal. The editorial team also examines the article's compliance with research reporting processes.
For the evaluation process, the Ethical Declaration Form of the research (except review articles), Cover Letter, Title Page, Article File, Copyright Notice Text, Institutional Permission (if case report) and Originality Report must be uploaded to the system. Authors are asked to upload the originality report they obtained using Turnitin or Ithenticate software to the system. The originality report of the article will also be examined by the editorial team through Turnitin software for plagiarism control.
As a result of the preliminary review, articles that are not found to be appropriate in terms of the journal's publication and writing rules and their scope, are incorrect or unoriginal are rejected without being accepted for referee evaluation.
2. Scientific Evaluation Process
Studies submitted to the journal are evaluated with a double-blind referee system. If the referee evaluations conflict or are found insufficient, they may apply for additional referee evaluations.
Studies for which corrections are requested by the referees are reviewed by the authors and then re-submitted to the review of the same referees. At this stage, studies that are deemed inadequate by the referees are rejected.
The final publication decision for articles that pass peer review is made by the Editorial Board. Positive referee reports are not binding for the Editorial Board and are taken into consideration primarily in making decisions.
3. Preparation for Publication Process
At this stage, the typesetting and editing of the article is done by the layout editor. Then, the articles are final-read by the editorial team to detect errors and omissions, and the articles are published in the relevant issue of the journal.
