EXAMINATION OF POSTGRADUATE THESES ON PREVENTIVE HEALTH SERVICES FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF HEALTH MANAGEMENT

Abstract Preventive health services are needed in order to live a healthy life, prevent diseases and be protected from diseases. The aim of this study is to examine the theses about preventive health services in the field of health management. In the study, a document review was conducted to evaluate the bibliometric properties of postgraduate theses about "preventive health services". For the research, theses registered to the YÖK National Thesis Center were scanned with the keyword "preventive health services" and 230 postgraduate theses were reached. The theses were scanned again with the keyword "health institutions management" under the subject heading and 36 postgraduate theses were reached. The theses within the scope of the research were evaluated in terms of year, thesis type, affiliated institute, university, keyword, department, advisor title parameters. Document analysis method, one of the qualitative data analysis methods, was used in the research. With the document analysis method, the data was analyzed using the SPSS 25th package program. As a result of the research, the most theses were made in 2019 (22.2%), the most type of thesis was master's thesis (80%), the most theses on this subject were made at Hacettepe University (16.7%) and at the social sciences institute (% 61.1) and in the field of health management (36.1%). When postgraduate theses are evaluated as a sample group, documents come first. The documents are followed by individual, healthcare professionals and patient samples, respectively. According to the research results, it is seen that words such as health, preventive health services, health policies are used as keywords in postgraduate theses on the subject. However, it was determined that concepts related to different disciplines such as actuarial, municipality, geriatrics, political party, gender and geography were included in theses as keywords. As a result of the research, it can be recommended to increase the number of doctoral theses on preventive health services, to support researchers on qualitative and mixed approaches and to increase the theses prepared with these methods, and to increase the awareness of researchers working in the field of health management on the subject.
